Ever had a missing tooth or multiple teeth and wanted a fixed solution that provides similar strength and structural integrity as the missing tooth? This is where dental implants are most useful.
A dental implant is a medical device that is surgically placed into jaw bones to restore function of chewing, speech and aesthetics. These devices can provide solutions for single, multiple or entire arches of teeth.
Dental implants are usually two-part system, consisting of an implant body (a titanium device that is surgically placed in the jaw bones) and the implant abutment (on which the tooth is cemented or mechanically attached). The implant body and abutment are mechanically retained by means of an abutment screw.
Implant placements are a routine dental procedure at Reiyal’s dentistry. If you are healthy enough to undergo basic dental procedures such as dental clean up and tooth extraction, then you can go ahead with implant placement as well. However, if you are a heavy smoker, betel nut chewer or suffer from UNCONTROLLABLE CHRONIC DISEASES like severe diabetes or heart disease then we would evaluate your condition and proceed accordingly.
The first phase of the implant placement deals with us taking measurements of the area missing teeth and procuring special scans (dental CBCT) of the bone in that area. These allow us to plan your surgery and determine if additional procedures like bone grafting or sinus lift procedures will be required, as these will alter the total implant cost.
Once the implant size and location are determined the surgical placement of the implant body is done into your jaw bone under local anaesthesia. This will be allowed to heal from anywhere between 8 to 16 weeks depending on the extent of surgery, grafting procedures, location and your medical condition.
After the implant body integrates with the jaw bone, new measurements are made and a crown is either cemented or screwed onto the implant body. Based on your requirement the number and location of implants will vary so that you could receive an implant bridge, implant retained denture or a completely new fixed set of teeth.

Most of our patients who receive dental implants mention minor discomfort following the procedure that is easily taken care of with mild painkillers. A dental implant is a relatively routine and quick procedure done under local anaesthesia.
