Finger Prosthesis

Prosthetic fingers are usually made out of silicone and are used to replace amputated fingers. The nail portion can be made out of acrylic to match the adjacent nails.

These prostheses are usually retained by vacuum onto the residual stump of the finger.

Fabrication of the prosthesis:

An initial scan or impression will be made to replicate your hand. In some cases, a model of your regular hand will be made to fabricate a similar looking prosthesis.

Once a moulage is obtained, your finger is fabricated using silicone. The prosthesis is matched to your skin tone and texture.

The prosthesis can either be retained by means of a vacuum, rings, gloves or dental implants.

FAQS:

Will the prosthesis stay on my finger for a long time?

Since the prosthesis is retained by vacuum, they stay in place until you take them off.

Will my finger prosthesis get damaged easily?

We advise to remove the prosthesis while washing hands or working in environments where your hands would get dirty easily. This would tend to reduce the life span of the prosthesis.
